Please apply for the Putnam County Rotary Scholarship . The deadline is April 12, 2024. Please speak to your counselor to find out about the requirements and fill out an application. Good luck Generals!!
Requirements:
1. Eligibility
a. Student must be a resident of Putnam County.
b. Student must qualify to be accepted into a vocational School, West Virginia college or university.
c. Student must plan to attend a vocational school, West Virginia college or university.
d. Student cannot be a member of the immediate family of a Rotarian.
e. Student references must demonstrate good character.
f. Student is encouraged to attend a Rotary meeting and report on their learning experiences and the value of the scholarship to them.
g. Student must be available for promotional photos for Rotary.
2. Application Process
a. Complete Basic Application Form enclosed.
b. Send Official Transcripts including GPA and ACT or SAT scores. College students must provide a transcript with recent GPA.
c. Send a letter of reference from a counselor, advisor, or teacher providing evidence of good character.
d. Rotary is an organization whose motto is “service above self.” Write an essay on the following topic: What have you done to improve your community? 1. Keep this motto in mind as you write your essay. 2. The essay must be typed and at least 500 words (approximately one page single-spaced). 3. Extra points will be awarded for references to personal experiences and creativity demonstrated in the essay.
e. Please submit the application, transcripts, references of good character and the completed essay to the address at the top of this page. 3. Important information and Dates The application needs to be received by April 12, 2024.
