Volunteers are welcome to come and join us in the library today from 11-12:30 for a luncheon provided by our staff. We have various sliders, meatballs, yummy dips, desserts, lemonade, and other refreshments and sure hope to have a good turnout of parents, grandparents and others who have helped make this school year "Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy." We have some great prizes that we will be handing out today! Come put your name in the drawings and eat a yummy lunch. Reminder- CES students in K-5 eat in the cafeteria, this is for grown-ups and little siblings only. If you forgot to RSVP, you can still come today. See you between 11:00-12:30!

Tomorrow is step up day. All of our students in grades K through 5 will visit next year's teachers. Our fifth graders will travel by school bus to GWMS or PMS. Please have fifth graders at school on time so they do not miss the bus to this event. Tomorrow is also the last day of Pre-K for the year. Thanks and have a great evening!

Field Day tomorrow- we are proceeding as scheduled due to too much happening between now and our last day, and we will come inside if there is lightning or thunder. Field Day starts at 9:00 am tomorrow. If you are coming to watch, it will be down on the baseball field so just start there instead of coming inside our building. Please do not park in the path near our school sign to the field as we have to drive things down there to set up and transport coolers and canopies. Field Day events on the field happen from 9-11:45. Lunch is from 12-12:30. From 12:30-1:30, we have Tug O’ War and Sponge and Bucket relay happening. Kids who choose to participate in this event will be soaked, so send them with a towel and a change of clothes. Any parent who wants to eat lunch tomorrow needs to call and tell Angie today or tomorrow by 8:00 a.m. Lunches for guests are $3.60 cash or check. High school volunteers- we will see you at 8:30. Good evening! This is a reminder that the COSI trip is tomorrow for 4th and 5th graders and school chaperones. Please arrive by 6:15 in the morning and enter through the cafeteria doors. We will be gathering in there and leaving on the bus by 6:30. We are excited for this fun opportunity for our students. We have groups of 3-5 students with each school adult and will take good care of them. Read back through the papers about the trip from teachers and make sure you have everything ready. Parents of students in 3-5, We are sending home a paper today with details about cyber safety lessons that we will be doing with students on Thursday. Please read through this info. If you wish to opt out, we need you to return the paper. Otherwise we do not need anything returned. Parents of 4th and 5th graders, you should have received a new paper this week from your child with details about the COSI trip on Friday. Fifth grade graduation begins at 6:00 in the gym this evening. Doors open at 5:45 for seating. You can enter through cafeteria side doors or the front doors. Programs will be out on the table as you enter the gym. Dinner will follow the graduation ceremony in the cafeteria. This is for all 5th grade students and immediate family members who have sent RSVPs. We are looking forward to celebrating this great group of students as their elementary journey is coming to a close.

Our Heritage Farm field trip is tomorrow. Wear class shirts and tennis shoes. Bring your disposable bagged lunch unless you ordered it from school. Pre-K students must have a parent attend. All other grades do not have to have a parent attend. Heritage Farm opens at 10:00 a.m. Parent tickets are $12.72 and you pay there. Talent show forms are due to Mr. Lyon tomorrow. Good evening, This is a reminder that 3-5 graders have WVGSA this week. Tomorrow they take the math assessment and on Tuesday they will take the reading assessment. This week is also Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week at CES. Thanks to the staff for all of the ways you make school special for the students!

Tomorrow we will begin our 2026 WV General Summative Assessment with the writing portion of the test. Students in grades 3-5 will be given a prompt and they draft and submit their written responses to this prompt. This test is scored with the reading portion they will take on Tuesday to give us rankings of student proficiency in Reading Language Arts. Please be on time in the morning, well-rested, and ready to give it your all! Our students and teachers are ready! Have a good evening!

Today is the last day of afterschool tutoring for the year. Students who made recycled robots for our book study need to have their robots picked up by the end of the day on Friday. Our 3rd-5th graders have the WVGSA (writing part of this state test) on April 29. All of our K-5 students will be doing end of year benchmark testing in the next few weeks. Encourage everyone to do their best and to show what they know!

Good morning! This is a reminder that all students need to bring their $5 party cash and 10 filled plastic eggs by tomorrow. Our Easter party for k-5 is at 1:00 on Thursday. We will start out on the playground with our egg hunt, then will go to classrooms for games and treats. Spring Break is March 30- April 3.
