School Cancellation and Delay Protocols for Inclement Weather

PES Families:

 Should there be inclement weather that would result in school cancellation or delays, ONE of the following protocols will be utilized.

 

1.  If a TWO-HOUR DELAY is called:  

  • Each school will open 2 hours later than the normal time.   PES doors will open at 9:45 a.m.
  • Each bus route will be delayed 2 hours.  Example:  If the bus picks-up at 7:35 a.m., then it will pick up at 9:35 a.m.  
  • Poca Elementary will dismiss at the normal time, 2:55 p.m.

2.   If an ON-SITE REMOTE INSTRUCTION DAY is called:  

  • NO STUDENTS WILL REPORT FOR IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION.
  • Remote instruction for all students will be 2 hours later than our normal instructional start time, which will be 10:10 a.m. for Poca Elementary.
  • Families should review their child’s Schoology account for a detailed class/teacher schedule and further instructions.
  • Curbside meal service will be offered from PES/PMS between 11:00 – 12:30 p.m.    Buses will run main roadways only for meals that have been requested by families. 

3.  If an OFF-SITE REMOTE INSTRUCTION DAY is called:

  • NO STUDENTS WILL REPORT  FOR IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION
  • Remote instruction for all students will be 2 hours later than our normal instructional start time, which will be 10:10 a.m. for Poca Elementary
  • Teachers will begin instruction from home/remote location 2 hours later than normal start of instruction.   PES – 10:10 a.m.
  • Families should review their child’s Schoology account for a detailed teacher/class schedule and further instructions.
